Part 4 of our trip East

Click to play Jersey Shore

Our last day there was spent in Cape May. We saw the lighthouse, walked the shore, went to the boardwalk and tada bought Rita's for the final time, stocked up on our salt water taffy and fudge.
The best way to cool down after a hot day at the beach is a swim in Grandma Hilda's gorgeous pool. The water was still 84* and felt great.

After relaxing that afternoon and eating delicious Italian Hoagies we drove to Mike's side of town to meet up with a couple of his friends from High School. We were supposed to meet up with them at Friendly's. Apparently, it was also a popular spot for families to gather after kindergarten graduation. We arrived early and watched hordes of families try to get a seat and disappointedly walk away. The most entertaining part was that the restaurnat had closed off one door because of a broken window, this however didn't stop 70* of the people from trying to open it. The best was when someone who read the sign opened the door from the inside to let in line of people! Mike had a blast laughing at everyone, and we had a prime spot for people watching too- right in front of the door. When Mike's friends arrived we decided to switch locations and headed down the street to Dairy Queen. We were able to get a seat there and enjoyed conversing over blizzards.

After Mike dropped Rachel and I off back at Grandma Hilda's he ran out to find the last of the uneaten treasures of the East- Tastykakes!

Now that we had successful loaded are luggage down with all the best food this region has to offer we headed back south to Maryland to catch a flight home. 5 and a 1/2 hours later we landed in Las Vegas and we were happy to be home.

Wow, that sounds like a really fun trip. I really liked the floaty toy you were using in the pool with Rachel. :)
