Find the thumb quick!

I never thought I'd encourage my child to be a thumb sucker, but I can't wait until she finds it so we can get rid of the pacifier. (Every once in a while she will surprise herself by finding her thumb and in her excitement she'll close her fist pulling it right out of her mouth.) Because of this dilemma here I am on the computer at 1am because every 10 mins or so the pacifier falls out of Rachel's mouth as she's falling to sleep. This of course wakes her up! So then she hollers for me to put it back in her mouth....here we go again.

Okay now that she has it back she'll be happy for a few mins. I have to admit she tries really hard to get it herself. She moves her head side to side and goes "unh unh" and then comes the "rah" and just one. If I don't respond then she does it again. If she could find her own thumb she'd never loose it... oh find the thumb soon please... so we can all sleep!

Oh wait I can hear her again. As I stood at the door anticipating the "Rah!" I was greeted with coo's and "ga's". She has become quite the babbler. Listening to her just melts my heart. I wanted to go pick her up and cuddle her just because she's so sweet. It's these type of moments that I don't really mind still being awake with her at 1:30 am. That and the fact that I know once she does sleep she'll sleep 6-8 hours. Yay!

Oh I remember those nights! I would fall asleep on her bedroom floor because I was so tired and I wanted to make sure she was asleep before heading back to my own warm bed. It will come, I promise. Gabrielle used to suck her fingers, hand as well, but still loves the pacifier. She is so darn cute!!! Can't wait to meet her.

She is Darling!! I know, I tried for Brenna to be a thumb - sucker. But the paci won and I am at least glad she took that!
