Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. Since my last Christmas post, we've made snowflakes for the windows, a wreath made from Rachel's handprint, and advent calendar for Mike and I and also a Santa one for Rachel. We played Christmas music all the time and were more dilegent about turning on the Christmas lights. We even made a gingerbread house. It certainly helped us feel ready for the BIG day!

We spent Christmas Eve at "grandma" Julia's (our sister in law's mom). After a wonderful dinner and plenty of playtime for the kids we settled down and read the Christmas Story and then went to our homes to get the little ones in bed so Santa could come. Lindsey, Keith and Wendy came over to our house for the Anderson Tradition for a reading of the Best Christmas Pagent Ever by Barbara Robinson.

We awoke Christmas Morning excited to see how Rachel would react to Santa coming. Some of the facial expressions we caught showed the pure joy we've forgotten of Christmas. She'd open one gift, play with it, and go on to the next. We had to take a quick breakfast break for Rachel and then we were back to opening gifts.

After the presents were opened, I made Rachel snowmen pancakes and Mike and I had cinnamon rolls. We had a delicious lunch at Grandma Wendy's and opened more gifts. We had a great couple days with family. I can't wait for next year, it'll be even better!!
